Growing Up Offroad
Dave’s introduction to offroading came at a young age, thanks to his parents who took him along to club competitions since he was a mere 6 months old. Surrounded by the thrill of the sport, it’s no wonder Dave developed a lifelong love for 4x4s.
A Master of Many Machines
Dave’s expertise extends far beyond a single vehicle. He’s comfortable behind the wheel of a wide range of offroad machines, including a Land Rover 110, Range Rovers, Bowler Defenders, and even a monster of a Discovery equipped with an M3 engine!

Baja Dreams
While Dave enjoys many aspects of offroading, his ultimate goal is to compete in the legendary Baja 1000. The sheer scale and challenge of this iconic race is a clear motivator for him.

When it comes to feeling scared behind the wheel, Dave admits it’s rare for him to experience nerves when he’s in control. However, being a passenger in a situation where things go wrong is a different story. He highlights the helplessness of being a passenger in a crash, showcasing his respect for the potential dangers involved in offroading.
Whitecliff 4x4: A Family Legacy
Dave’s passion for offroading extends beyond competition. He’s the chief instructor at Whitecliff 4×4, a company established 27 years ago by his mum, Geraldine, and three colleagues. Dave practically grew up at Whitecliff, getting his first taste of driving at the young age of 7!
Sharing the Knowledge
Today, Dave utilizes his extensive experience to train others at Whitecliff 4×4. He offers a variety of courses under the British Off Road Driving Association’s guidelines, along with winch training and assessments.
